Tonight

Tonight was hard. Alyssa screamed from 6:45-7:15. She ate and promptly feel asleep until 7:58, she then screamed until 9:00. The only time she would stop is to breathe and throw up. It was just me home tonight, and that made it even tougher. I guess all that bragging about how good of a baby she is got to her head. I felt like a bad mom when after about 35 minutes of it, I had to put her down in her crib and come downstairs for ten minutes. But I knew if I didn't neither one of us would be productive in getting her to sleep.
She is now upstairs asleep, hopefully it stays that way until her midnight feeding.

School is out for the summer

What more do I need to post? School is out, no more baby sitters for Alyssa for 9 weeks. Chris has Monday off so it is a three day weekend for us. Life is good right now!

Sleeping through the night?

Nope Alyssa is still not sleeping through the night. She gets up at least twice. However I'm not sleeping through the night either. I wake up at least 3 or 4 times. I lay there awake listening to the baby monitor sometimes even getting up to check on her. She will be sound asleep, and I know that I should be too so that I can get up when she gets up, however I can't go back to sleep. I have been known to lay awake for up to 45 minutes waiting for her to wake up. My goal for the summer is to not wake up until she does.
Going to bed at night is its own challenge. She will go down just fine, but then 30-45 minutes later she is awake and it takes us another hour to get her to finally go back to sleep and stay asleep. That is something else we will work on this summer.

Did I mention summer starts in 3 days!?

Friday

It is Friday and a three day weekend. I love four day weekends with a passion. It makes Sundays so great! Chris and I were going to go down to the lake this weekend but since it hasn't been warm (up until the last two days) we figured we would stay home and finish all the projects we have started but haven't finished in the last few months. It should be a nice relaxing weekend. Hopefully Alyssa is as happy as we are to be spending 3 whole days together.

Only Wednesday

Today is only Wednesday. Why is it when you want something so badly it takes forever to get here? There are only 9 days total, 6 school days left of school! I can't wait, this group has been hard, not as hard as last year but hard. I am ready to say good-bye to this group and get a new group. Even if that group will be third graders and in 2 years I will have this group back again.
Today when I went to drop Alyssa off there were some pictures waiting for me, my sister-in-law watched Alyssa on Saturday for Chris and I. While she was here she had a 3 hour photo shoot with her good friend Mary of Alyssa they took over 90 pictures. Some of the pictures turned out great. I will post some today and then the rest you will have to wait until Sunday when I post picasa pictures.

Alone

I sit here in my PJ's on the couch, no dog, no Chris, no Alyssa. Chris has taken the dog and Alyssa for a walk. This is the first time I have had the house to myself since she was born. It is really nice. I know I probably only have another 2 minutes, but I might have to suggest this more often. I love my daughter, husband and dog to death. But peace and quiet for just 15 minutes (especially after the day I had) is amazing!
Can't even write any more just have to sit here and enjoy the house, because before I know it, it will be back to normal and Alyssa will need to be fed and changed, Vinnie will need attention and the couch will grow cold again where my butt has sat for the last 15 minutes!

High Pitched Squeal

Alyssa has found her high voice. Not only has she found it, but she LOVES to try it out. She found it on Sunday while taking to her Elephant on her swing. Since then she doesn't "talk" in her lower pitches, everything is high. This morning in the bathroom it got very loud as it was echoing off the walls. She loves to squeal and then look at you to see if you heard her. I'm hoping it is just a short phase and she will go back to lower pitches before my ear drums explode. And though my ears are ringing I can't help but have the biggest smile on my face because she is happy about it.
She is also rolling like a champ. Tonight I had her on the floor and she was rolling from her back to her front, and then front to back. I told Chris we better watch out because before we know it she will be rolling after things!
In other news I will not be teaching 1st grade next year. I got called to the principals office today and was informed that next year I will be teaching 3rd grade. While part of me is excited to be teaching 3rd grade again, another part of me is dissapointed because I was looking foward to being able to use my same lesson plans from this year. Ohh Well I'm up for the challage, but first I need about 9 weeks off with my daughter and her high pitched squeals!

* No picture tonight because I am on Chris' computer and he doesn't seem to have any saved!
